a tradition of building giant puppets for the annual fair parade.
Held on a Sunday afternoon in mid-July (usually the hottest day of
the year!), the parade heralds the opening of the Muscatine County
Fair and is followed by a community-wide picnic in the park. Everyone
in town watches this classic Midwestern parade; everyone, that is,
except for the many that participate by entering floats, horses,
tractors, and....puppets! |
