Two workshops relating to the twin North American holidays, Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) and Hallowe’en taught by Mexican guest puppeteer Eli Portugal!
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15, 7:00-9:30 P.M (for adults):
Celebrate the Day of the Dead tradition by making a delightful shadow box scene of skeletons living everyday lives! We’ll make the skeletons out of paper clay, model magic, wire, and other materials. The boxes can be decorated or painted as scenery. Recommended for artists or anyone who likes to dabble in crafts. Nibble on chocolate and enjoy a beverage while you work!.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2:00-4:00 P.M:
Get ready for Hallowe’en! Make a mask to wear for Hallowe’en costume or to hang on the wall, using colored papier mache, sequins, ribbons, and other decorations. Add a hat or other addition to your costume! Fun and useful for families, scout troops and clubs. as well as youth leaders and leaders of afterschool programs.
